Alonso Aguirre and Mabel Nava discuss the day's workshop schedule

Sixteen conservation workers, including national parks staff from the all the Dutch Caribbean islands, attended STCB’s sea turtle biology and conservation course, “Research and Management Techniques for the Conservation of Sea Turtles.”

STCB science advisor Dr. Robert van Dam and Wildlife Trust senior scientist Dr. Alonso Aguirre led the workshop. Topics ranged from survey techniques to sea turtle injuries and diseases.

DCNA (Dutch Caribbean Nature Alliance) sponsored the course with funding and technical support. Technical assistance was provided by WIDECAST (Wider Caribbean Sea Turtle Conservation Network).
