What We Do

STCB uses best practices in science and conservation to build knowledge and protection of Bonaire’s sea turtles. We share our knowledge to raise awareness, affect policy and build support for biodiversity protection.

Bonaire – an important center for sea turtle research and conservation

Bonaire is an ideal place to conduct sea turtle research. The island’s extensive near-shore coral reefs, pockets of sandy beaches and rich seagrass beds provide sea turtles with high quality feeding, breeding and nesting habitats. Sea turtles can be surveyed and monitored up close, which allows detailed data collection and effective conservation techniques.
