Join community volunteers in cleanups that prepare our beaches for the nesting season

STCB’s next beach cleanup

When:

Saturday,  September 25, 2010   7:00 -  12:30

Where:

Klein Bonaire

Who:

The ENTIRE BONAIRE COMMUNITY and island visitors
Organizing agencies: Sea Turtle Conservation Bonaire & STINAPA Bonaire
Partner agencies: Selibon – garbage disposal

Why:

Clean beaches provide access to nesting beaches for sea turtles and help maintain the natural beauty of Bonaire’s beaches for public use.

Volunteers should bring sun protection (hats, sunglasses, sunscreen), protective shoes, and please remember to bring re-usable water containers (cold water will be available for filling personal containers). Stop litter – bring your own re-usable containers!

For more information about the next beach cleanup, call STCB at 717-2225 or 780-0433.

Washikemba’s beach, on Bonaire’s windward coast, is subject to a constant onslaught of wave-borne debris.

Hatchling turtles don’t have a chance to make it to the sea unless they have clear passage.
