STCB the Netherlands (NL)

 

The initiative of a Bonairian and a Dutch entrepreneur, Larry Gerharts and Albert de Soet, to ensure the protection and recovery of Bonaire's sea turtle populations, led to the foundation in 1991 in Amsterdam of what is now Sea Turtle Conservation Bonaire-Netherlands (STCB-NL). In 1992 the executive branch was established on Bonaire (STCB-Bonaire). Two members of the board of STCB- NL are also board members of STCB-Bonaire. The main goal of STCB-NL is to support its counterpart on Bonaire in its mission to ensure the protection and recovery of Bonaire's sea turtle populations throughout their range. Fundraising in the Netherlands is also one of the important objectives of STCB-NL to ensure that the goal of protecting and overseeing Bonaire's sea turtles will be met now and in the future. STCB-NL has been recognized as an approved charity or ANBI-organization by the Tax and Internal Revenue Administration of the Netherlands Ministry of Finance. As a result gifts and donations are tax deductible for Netherlands income taxes under fiscal registration number 802537388.
